Who we are

The Southern American Activities Conference (SAAC) is an association of international schools in South America committed to providing students with meaningful opportunities for growth through athletics, activities, and the arts. SAAC promotes educational experiences that extend beyond the classroom, allowing students to develop their talents while building character, leadership, and connections.

Guided by its purpose statement, “Character and Connection through Collaboration and Competition,” SAAC believes that students grow most effectively when they are challenged to work together and compete in environments that emphasize respect, integrity, and sportsmanship. Through interscholastic events and tournaments, students learn the values of teamwork, resilience, discipline, and fair play, while also building friendships and cultural understanding with peers from across the region.

SAAC programs aim to:

  • Encourage students to prepare and participate at the highest level of their ability.

  • Promote self-control, discipline, tolerance, and fair play.

  • Foster intercultural cooperation among students from diverse backgrounds.

  • Encourage respect for opponents, coaches, and referees.

  • Provide students with opportunities to experience a healthy and positive competitive environment.

The member schools of SAAC include:

  • American School of Quito – Quito, Ecuador

  • Asociación Escuelas Lincoln – Buenos Aires, Argentina

  • Colegio Franklin D. Roosevelt – Lima, Peru

  • International School of Curitiba – Curitiba, Brazil

  • International School Nido de Aguilas – Santiago, Chile

  • Uruguayan American School – Montevideo, Uruguay

  • Graded School – São Paulo, Brazil

Together, these schools collaborate to create enriching experiences that support the development of well-rounded students and strengthen connections within the international school community across South America.
